1966 Topps Baseball - a fool's errand?

Back in the middle 1980's, i was knee deep in baseball cards. I worked in a card shop at the mall. I had a side business selling my own cards at shows on weekends. I even organized and ran my own card shows. All before i had turned 18.

my fascination at the time was to collect the complete set from 1966. the year of my birth. i came very close to completing it. i was down to just a handful of cards that i needed. the only person i could find who had them was larry fritsch in wisconsin and he wanted a ton for them. i refused to pay. and it was never finished.

i went to college. was on my own. and eventually had to sell that 1966 almost set. i dont even recall how much i got for it. i was trying to eat and pay rent at that point.

so now....i am old.....and i am trying to collect that set again....i am off to a good start.......i have exactly 500 of the 598 cards in my hands....and 16 more on the way.....and i hope it doesnt come down to me and larry fritsch in the end again.

so we need to find 82 baseball cards.... and this is that story
